Our Horses
At Forever Free Equine, our horses are the heart of everything we do. Each one is more than just a lesson horse or a boarder—they are trusted partners, teachers, and family. Every horse in our care is chosen for their kind nature, patience, and willingness to connect with people of all ages and experience levels.
"Pomme Dé Terré"
Potato
Meet the heart and soul of Forever Free Equine — our OG horse. Pomme Dé Terré, known lovingly around the barn as Potato, is a 19-year-old bay Thoroughbred with a distinctive star and stripe on his face, a dorsal stripe, and a left hind sock that makes him instantly recognizable. Potato has lived a full and accomplished life, earning many achievements both in and out of the show ring, with a strong hunter/jumper background and additional eventing training that speaks to his versatility, athleticism, and steady mind. More than just a talented horse, Potato is the reason this farm exists — he started it all. He inspired the dream, grounded the vision, and quite literally made Forever Free Equine a reality, proving that one horse can change everything.
"Rid 'em Cowgirl"
Cowgirl
Cowgirl was Joshawa’s very first pony, bought just one week after meeting Shailah, and she will always hold a special place in his equine journey. She wasn’t an easy first horse—she was a tough ride and hard to mount—but that challenge is exactly what made her so important. Cowgirl taught Joshawa early on that horses don’t give you anything for free, and that if you truly want to succeed, you have to put in the work, patience, and dedication. Through her, he learned resilience, responsibility, and respect for the process of building a partnership with a horse. She was a huge part of Joshawa’s beginning in the equine world, helping shape the horseman he is today and laying the foundation for everything that followed.
